MY JOUNEY

Leina Chi’s journey has been shaped by a commitment to giving voice to overlooked stories and creating meaningful change in the lives of women and families.

Beginning her career in journalism, she went on to become a women’s rights advocate and peacebuilding practitioner, using communication, advocacy and community engagement to address issues affecting women and girls.

Today, her work also extends to Christian ministry and community service, bringing together her professional experience, faith and passion for strengthening women and families.

A DEFINING CAUSE

Breaking the Silence on Breast Ironing

Leina’s advocacy against breast ironing is deeply personal. After witnessing the practice within her own family and resisting it herself, she became determined to challenge the beliefs and social pressures that put girls at risk.

Through journalism, advocacy and community engagement, she has helped bring greater attention to the practice while championing the dignity, safety and bodily integrity of girls.

WELLSPRINGS WOMEN MINISTRIES

Faith is central to Leina’s life and service. Through Wellspring Women Ministries, she creates spaces where women and mothers can grow through biblical teaching, prayer, fellowship and encouragement.

COMPASSION IN ACTION

Mother's Watch

Through Wellsprings Women's Ministries under the program  Mother’s Watch, faith is translated into practical care for vulnerable children, mothers and families in Cameroon. Outreach initiatives have included support to orphanages, back-to-school assistance, and practical care for disadvantaged pregnant women, new mothers and vulnerable newborns.
